I’m pretty new to essential oils, but I absolutely love using a few of them on a daily basis! My methods of use are mainly diffusing and topical (applying directly to a part of the body), but I am excited to learn more about different uses – recipes (link) for example! But for now, these are
slowly quickly becoming my “can’t live without” daily oils!

Lemon: First thing in the morning, I like to place a couple drops in a large glass of water and chug, chug, chug! (or sip slowly, depending on my mood / level of alertness on that particular morning.) Lemon provides cleansing and digestive benefits and is a great way to jumpstart your digestive system to get the most out of your breakfasts! It has also been shown to uplift and improve moods – great news for those of us who tend to resemble a bear emerging from hibernation in the morning!
Deep Blue: I love rubbing this on after hard workouts in the evening to promote muscle restoration and relieve any soreness from previous workouts! This blend of Wintergreen, Camphor, Peppermint, Ylang Ylang, Helichrysum, Blue Tansy, Blue Chamomile, and Osmanthus is the best thing for soothing sore muscles. And, of course, it smells wonderful!
Lavender: Not gonna lie, this never leaves my bedside table! I love diffusing this for an hour at night – half an hour before I turn off the lights, and for the next half hour as I fall asleep to aid in a deep and peaceful night’s rest. I’ve rarely struggled with falling asleep but would usually wake up a couple times during the night. I still naturally wake up at the time I’ve trained my body to wake up (any other 5:30am-ers out there??), but ever since I started using Lavender oil, I sleep soundly through the whole night!
On Guard: I live with 2 teachers so it’s not uncommon for one or both of them to come home from a classroom with sick kids. This blend of Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary kicks a powerful fight against germs and bacteria and helps purify the air. I’ve started diffusing this throughout the house to help purify the air and so far everyone’s healthy!
Peppermint: This is a lifesaver for all you super-busy people out there! My fiancé is finishing up his last few classes for his second degree and loves using peppermint oil to stay alert during the wee hours of the night when he’s working on papers or catching up on readings. And a tip for the guys out there – rubbing a drop or two in your mustache is a great way to extend the inhalation process for a longer “pick me up”!
